BANK OF ENGLAND 12 TWICKENHAM 29
Twickenham kept their hopes
of survival in London 2 alive with a clear cut win against bottom of the table
local side Bank of England.
T’s took an early lead when
full-back John Bradford ended an enterprising back move with a score in the
corner. His own conversion from the touchline made it 7-0, but moments later he
had to leave the field with injury.
By half time, T’s had
doubled their advantage when a break from T’s man of the match, winger Tom
Howden, released Joe Foley. Captain Phil Asbury converted.
The Bank were a much more
positive outfit in the second half, and scored two tries, converting one, to
bring the score back to 14-12.
T’s regained composure and
in the last 20 minutes went over twice, through hooker Mike Nicholson in a
rolling maul, and a lovely flowing try for Howden. James Clark converted the
latter and added a penalty for the final 29-12 victory.
With 3 games to go T’s are
anchored in the relegation zone, but if they could win them all they might
escape.
